What if the turf that was installed fails?

curbside planting that is mostly weeds

If at some point, the turf along your roadside fails, you may need to re-seed or re-sod the area. With proper practices, seeding is probably the best, and most economical option. Select a high quality seed that is known to do well on roadsides, and try to seed in late summer to reduce weed competition. This time of year also has lower temperature stress so the grasses will grow more vigorously and should be able to fully establish prior to winter. Re-visit the Managing a newly established roadside lesson of this series for more tips on establishing turf.
